Lanolin is a natural oil obtained by purifying the lipid components that adhere to wool.
It has a wide carbon chain distribution and is widely used as an additive in lubricants, rust inhibitors, and dispersants.
In recent years it has come to be viewed as an environmentally friendly renewable resource.
